"Gilmore Cabin Workshop Series" - Beadwork
This event is no longer on sale.
Oral tradition passed down through the Gilmore family stated that Polly Gilmore was a seamstress who added to the family’s income through sewing-related work. The story was confirmed by the hundreds of beads, buttons, pins, and needles discovered during archaeological excavations beneath the cabin’s floorboards. Kathleen Conery, James Madison University’s Costume Shop manager, will introduce the art of decorative beadwork. Lunch provided.
Location: Gilmore Cabin (Located on Rt. 20 across from the main entrance to James Madison's Montpelier.)
