Montpelier's 2019 Conservation, Curation, & Restoration Lab Program was such a success we brought it back! Participants will spend the week learning the basics of artifact conservation and curation through hands-on workshops including artifact condition assessment, documentary photography, artifact cleaning and rust removal, electrolytic reduction, mending and repairing. Participants will experience behind-the-scenes tours of artifact storage facilities and other areas not normally accessible to the public, participate in discussions about how conservation decisions are made, and enjoy lectures from leaders in the museum field.
Housing is not included in the program pricing. Participants are responsible for their own housing arrangements. On-site housing is available for an additional fee. Email dig@montpelier.org to inquire about this limited housing option.
